Flosstradamus

Here’s a new Flosstradamus song featuring Caroline Polachek (of Charilift).  Honestly, I’d never heard of Caroline Polachek before I came across this song via the Crickets blog, but I think she sounds incredible on the track.  Flosstradamus is a DJ/production duo that’s a main fixture in the Chicago music scene.  I’ve been to a couple of their shows and they seriously know how to work a crowd.  It’s damn near impossible to not dance at one of their shows.

Beyonce Videos - Diva & Halo

I know I’m late on these but they’re dope so I’m posting them anyway.  Diva is Beyonce’s version of A Milli a sick song with super hot production.  And Halo is a dope Leona Lewi-type ballad with a way-too-intimate-if-I-was-Jay-Z video.

And after these two new songs and her last singles, Single Ladies & If I Were A Boy, I think it’s safe to say Beyonce wants her spot back from Rihanna!!

Ben Button

I finally saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and it’s officially my favorite movie of the holidays so far!  And with it being Oscar season, there have been some really good movies out lately (i.e. Slumdog Millionaire).

I feel like Ben Button is on par with the best of this year’s films in terms of its great acting and directing (which shouldn’t be understated at all).  However, it separates itself based on the strength of its writing.  The whole film has an epic emotional quality to it, which comes off more as universal life lessons rather than preachiness or overbearing drama.  And some of the shots were absolutely incredible.  It paid a huge tribute to the city of New Orleans, which is certainly well deserved!!

New York, I Love You

I just watched Paris, j t’aime the other night and it was absolutely amazing!!  For those that haven’t heard of it, the basic concept is this - they signed on some of the best directors in the world to film short love stories located in Paris in an attempt to show different sides of love and Paris.

And it worked!  I can’t remember the last time I saw so many great shots in one movie, or the concept of love approached from so many different angles.  If you haven’t seen it, it’s well worth it!!!!

And now that I’m on that bandwagon, I’m extremely excited to see the follow up to Paris, j t’aime (which means Paris I Love You).  It’s called New York, I Love You and (if you couldn’t guess) it follows the same concept as Paris, j t’aime, except based in New York city.  Here’s the trailer.

Live Forever

peaceful-morning-mw300h379

I thought that you would live forever.

But it seems, time proved me wrong.

I thought that you would live forever.

Now it’s true, now that you’re gone.

*My grandfather died today.
