Nirvana - Where Did You Sleep Last Night?
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Nirvana’s cover of it is called “Where Did You Sleep Last Night?” but it also goes by “In the Pines” and “Black Girl.” It’s an old song that’s been around since the mid-to-late 1800’s.
I love this clip because Kurt Cobain starts to zone out and gets lost in the music, then around the 4:40 mark he opens his eyes and you can see a look of intensity in them and then he goes back into the music. To me, it’s an incredible moment. It happens very quickly but knowing his story it really makes me wonder what was going on in his head at that exact moment, if anything at all.

this is easily one of my top 3 songs of all time as well…. i remember when i was about 12 yrs old or something watching it and it blew my mind. ironically I just bought the DVD in June. u should borrow it and wathch it all the way through .. it shows an uncut version i.e in between songs and such.
He sings it with such raw emotion and its seemingly painful…until that point of relaxation. One of the only songs that sends chills down my spine, every time I hear it
interesting nugget:…. i remember reading that Kurt told the producers of the preformance to show more pictures of him smiling. He said people thought he was depressed too much and that he never smiled.
